What happens to personal data when you use Ellanik, in plain words. There are two groups of people: the businesses that use Ellanik, and the customers who call them.
1.Who we are
Ellanik is an AI receptionist for businesses in Cyprus, built in Paphos.
For the data of a business’s own customers, the business decides why and how it is used, and Ellanik processes it on the business’s behalf. For the account of the business itself, Ellanik decides.
2.What we collect
From businesses: name, email address, business details, opening hours, services, prices, team members and billing information. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
From callers: during a call, speech is turned into text as it is spoken. We keep the text of the conversation, the caller’s phone number and language, and any booking that was made. Ellanik does not currently record call audio.
3.Why we use it
To answer calls and book appointments for the business, to show the business what happened, to run the service, to bill for it and to keep it secure.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
4.How long we keep it
Conversations, and the customers attached to them, are deleted automatically after the retention period the business sets, 30 days by default.
Business account data is kept while the account is open.
5.Who else handles it
A small number of services process data for us: speech recognition and voice, a language model, hosting, email and payments. Calls are processed on EU endpoints.
These services may use the data only to provide their service to us.
6.Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to object to how it is used. A business can export or erase any customer’s data from Ellanik on request.
If you are a customer of a business, ask that business or talk to us and we will pass your request on. You can also complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
7.How we protect it
Each business’s data is kept apart from every other business’s, sign-in supports two-step verification, and our logs leave out personal data. More is on the security page.
8.Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work. They are described in the cookie policy.
9.Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so here and tell businesses by email.
10.Contact
For questions or requests about personal data, use the Talk to us page and mention privacy.
